RT-PCR Respiratory Pathogens:
Upper and lower respiratory tract infections are caused by a broad range of microbes, including RNA and DNA viruses, bacteria, and even fungi, and yet are often symptomatically similar.
Detection of these pathogens can be challenging; immunoassays provide limited answers, and culture based methods are prone to contamination and can miss bacterial and fungal pathogens owing to fastidious growth in culture. Co-infections are a growing concern that require broad and effective pathogen detection.
